Review of “Inspection”

Inspection by Josh Malerman

I wasn’t thrilled with the premise of this book: a boarding school where boys are raised to not know that women exist so their genius can grow unencumbered by the distraction which women present. But it sounded interesting enough that I decided to give it a chance for science fiction’s sake. I was super right to! Inspection is carried by its suspense. Throughout the novel, I wanted to know what happened next. Although I will say that the end seemed a bit rushed, I fully enjoyed the book and I recommend it to readers who enjoy suspense over action.
